Mr. Fitzgerald also has a Masters Degree in theology from the University of Notre Dame with a special emphasis in Scripture. He taught theology for many years at St. Pius X High School and enjoyed working with teenagers. He is interested in helping clients see the relationship between spirituality and psychology, one’s faith and emotional health. He believes that life is a faith journey towards becoming whole — mind, body, emotions and spirit.

Mr. Fitzgerald is very respectful of cultural and religious diversity and respects the client’s lead on what is life-giving for her or him. Spirituality is incorporated into the counseling only if the client is open to include that dimension. God is very much at work even when the client is not ready for explicit reference to God and spirituality. In the words of St. Francis, “preach at all times but only when necessary use words.”

Matt Kelley, M.A.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Mr. Matt Kelley is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He holds a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL. Prior to attending graduate school, Mr. Kelley worked for 10 years on college campuses mentoring university students. It was being involved in the triumphs and tragedies of these men and women that awakened his heart to the tremendous need for skilled listeners and healers to walk with us in times of desperation and despair. But it has been the experience of personal brokenness and redemptive transformation in his own life, and in the lives of close friends and family, that has given him confident assurance that the power of the gospel is bigger than any failure, betrayal or tragedy.

Mr. Kelley works with teens and adults in family, couples and individual therapy. His interests in counseling include marriage restoration, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, addictions and helping individuals pursue their masculinity and femininity.

While comfortable working with clients who are seeking a purely secular approach to counseling, Mr. Kelley believes that the most hope for redemptive transformation is found in an integrative approach to counseling. This method combines the insights available in God’s revelation of Himself and His will for each individual with the best that secular psychology has to offer in terms of its understanding of the human soul. This approach recognizes that while there are tremendous insights available through the study of psychology, we are individuals uniquely crafted and gifted by our Creator and that no secular theory can fully explain the intricacies of the human heart.

During precious moments of relaxation, Mr. Kelley enjoys exploring the wilds of New Mexico hiking and cycling with his family and friends. He can also frequently be found intently wandering the aisles at Home Depot having bit off more than he can chew with a home remodeling project.
